Environment Artist
Job Description
ARTNOVATOR is looking for a talented and self-motivated Environment Artist to join our team of cool specialists in creating first-class environments for next-gen gaming.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Lead Environment Artist to create high-quality environments and assets that align with the art direction.
- Contribute to level design and work closely with the level design team on all aspects of gameplay related to game environments.
- Design, prototype, and create AAA-quality game assets while maintaining organization and meeting agreed-upon deadlines.
- Develop high-poly and low-poly models of environmental objects such as props, buildings, trees, and tile-sets.
- Apply photo-realistic texturing to environmental objects
- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar position in the video game industry, preferably having participated in the production of at least one successful AAA project on PC and/or consoles.
- High proficiency in standard software such as Max | Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter | Designer, etc., and the ability to quickly learn new tools as needed.
- Strong understanding of color theory and the ability to create balanced and appealing color palettes through lighting, texturing, and material work.
- Advanced knowledge of physically based material workflows and shaders.
- Great team player who is willing to seek help and feedback from others and provide it in return.
- Awareness of current industry trends and techniques.
Extra Points
- Understanding of photogrammetry processes and workflows.
- Expertise with PBR, lighting, rendering, and material authoring.
- Demonstrated ability to work across different visual styles.
- Good knowledge of engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine 5, etc.
- Portfolio showcasing photorealistic environment art.
- Passion for video game development.
